Cleaning up the UI and smoothing out the jank
Macrocosm » Devlog
A solo project has a lot of bugs and a lot of jank. These are the facts of life I have come to discover. So here is the latest iteration.
Gameplay
- Food now spoils over time.
- Add more variety of food. Hmmhh pickles!
- Started to add gameplay mechanics centered around tile and weight dependency. Hauling a big load slows down movement speed, traveling on roads use less supplies, etc. Commodity production in settlements are also tied to nearby terrain now.
- Added a caravan attribute window to show gameplay mechanics.
Bugs
- Fixed a bug where opening up a window (such as the inventory) while moving causes the game to crash.
- Fixed a bug where loading a map after exiting to the main menu would cause the game to crash.
- Fixed a loading bug due to being unable to find a settlement starting point for the player avatar.
Jank
- Cleaned up the UI and made it more stylistic consistent.
- Revised a lot of UI icon graphics
- Touched up a lot of art assets to be more consistently the same size.
- Eliminated free mouse scrolling, now hold right mouse button to scroll
Until next time.
